Now, is it just me or is the site really genuinely faster and smoother since we did the server upgrade the other week. It's peak time now and it's all hunkety dory. Yes? No?

FWIW, its generally faster. Although sometimes, some threads seem to freeze halfway through opening. It happens on both computers I use so I am guessing its you and not me....

the 'i shagged dh's twin' thread went all peculior when i tried to open it earlier and had some sort of seizure.... had to go out and try again.

It does seem more reliable.

Of course, I'm very suspicious of 'upgrades'. DH once massively downgraded a network system from 2 meg to 384 K. When asked, the users were all very happy with the 'upgrade'.

it is a bit faster

still slower than it used to be for me, but yes there has been an improvement

It was on purpose - they didn't need that much bandwidth to do what they were doing. I think it probably saved money?
