New user cannot join

My friend wants to join Mumsnet on Android - but the join button greys out then returns to join without sending a confirmation email or going to the new profile page - why can't she join?

She's on an iPad using Chrome

She didn't download the mumsnet app first though does she need to download that from the App Store before she clicks on join?

I had this a couple of days ago when I joined, didn't work on lap top or phone, however if you go to the main home page, the one with the pics, there is a join button at the top and it works, the one when you are in the "active page" doesn't work, it just bounces you straight out.

Okay - downloaded app, tried to join, didn't receive a confirmation email this evening either - same problem as this morning.

There are no pics on her iPad Talk page just a list of threads...
