Dumb question about PM's

Been having a long-running conversation with another poster - we message one another every few months.

I've just NC. How does this work - if she PM's me will it show that I've changed name or should I send her a PM to tell her?

IIRC, if she sends a PM (to your old name) you should still receive it in your old name and if you reply directly from that PM - which presumably you will (!) - then it will go to her from your old name. I think that's the case anyway - maybe someone more knowledgable can confirm this?

But, given that you and her have got to 'know' each other, presumably you won't mind that she knows your new NN? In which case send her a PM telling her you've NCd. So either send it from your new NN saying something along the lines of "I was , we've been chatting about ", so she knows it really is you! Or change back to your old NN and send her a PM saying something along the lines of "I've recently NCd, I'm now Yamadori".
