WTF is this large sticky ad in the middle of my computer screen?

It covers half of the post I'm trying to write. Then I 'preview' and it's there in the middle, covering the preview I'm trying to read.

There doesn't seem to be a bit I can click on to close it.

Did you really have to? We can try to collect some money among the regulars if y'all are so desperate for cash.

I've been getting increasingly annoyed with that too - the ad changes from one thing to another but it's really hampering my enjoyment of MN. Maybe a sign I need to get a life and dereg for a bit!

This is the first time I'm seeing it.

It moves about as I try to scroll so I can see the post I'm writing.

What fresh hell is this?
