What does it mean when every post says msg withdrawn at posters request?

YoJesse · 17/09/2016 20:40

I'm just revisiting some old threads from earlier this year and a prolific poster that actively hated me has had all her posts deleted under various usernames. Does this mean she was a troll or just asked for her extensive history to be deleted?
Please help!?

Yes I often wonder about this too, can you request that if flouncing or something, like deactivating Facebook?

You can't ask it just because you want to, but I think some posters were outed or stalked and MNHQ deleted their entire past history (or in one case retrospectively name changed them). Some older threads look like Swiss cheese.

Was just about to say same as usual - loads of posters who had their details leaked by Geoffrey had all their posts removed.

childmaintenanceserviceinquiry · 17/09/2016 21:21

I have been stalked on here. Decided to keep all my posts as a big FY. I wrote nothing that i was ashamed of.

This is this year so before the hacker thing. I got to know her quite well and don't actually think she was a troll but she was offensive sometimes and very to the pointi really liked her but was.also scared shitless of her, just like a mum

And really, you can't be scared of someone on the Internet? Um, yes you can and if doesn't make you a twat.

Hasn't the person you are talking about just had a name change (to a similar name)?

Hi there YoJesse. If you have any concerns then do drop us a line at the usual address and hopefully we can put your mind at ease. In terms of these posts, we obviously are unable to give out any information on particular posters and our conversations with them, but there are many reasons why lots of posts by one poster may be deleted - most of them not at all sinister. Hope that puts your mind at rest.

YoJesse · 21/09/2016 10:06

Thanks Iona is that the contactus@mumsnet one or something else?

OP posts:
HenRah · 21/09/2016 15:44

Usual is correct ... I'm probably not the poster but I had mine deleted after Geoffrey

MaddyHatter · 22/09/2016 16:42

some had them withdrawn after geoffrey.

a number also had them taken down after the Samaritans purse thing.

YoJesse · 22/09/2016 16:52

I don't actually know about either of those things. Was Geoffrey the hacker from 2013?
