Discrepancy with passwords and logins

I usually use MN on my phone (Nokia Lumia) where I am automatically logged in every time I tap the internet application.

I wanted to use MN tonight via a laptop and it wouldn't recognise my password. Not a problem, I ask for a password reset. I activate a new password with a confirmation on the MN screen I am using, but when I try and log in with the new password it isn't recognised, and even worse is that I can still automatically log in from my phone using my old password.

Help?

Could it be because you were already logged in on the App on your phone, so you can't be logged in on two separate devices at the same time?

Can you not be logged on to two devices at the same time? And my phone is still logged on with the previous password even though I had the confirmation screen on the laptop last night.

I got an email regarding a report and it had my very old username on it. So old that I didn't recognise it.

I might be wrong, but I'm sure that being logged in on two (or more) separate devices (for any site you need to log in to) doesn't work?

Ah, I'm totally untechy! It was a stab in the dark!

But maybe if the OP was already logged in on one device and then tried to change her password on the other device - whilst still logged in elsewhere - the MN system got confused!
