old news?

The threads in the "in the news on Mumsnet Talk" box were started 6, 6, 5, 3 and 3 days ago.

I have this strange idea that "news" should be ... you know ... NEW.

I wonder if you could look at updating the box more frequently.

CanadianJohn....it's not down to MN HQ updating, it's down to us posters posting regularly.

I started a thread a while ago...a couple of weeks ago...to say that things weren't moving on much on a day to day basis and the threads were boring as I'd read them all!

It's people not posting as much due to the Daily Mail stealing things and Brexit meaning people were arguing a lot.

Two of the "current" threads are from "in the news", one is from AIBU, and two are from Chat. How do they get chosen for the "in the news" box?

There are other threads that are more recent, more active, and probably more news-y.

I'm off to bed, I wonder what MN will have to say.

I suspect it's an inbuilt gizmo that selects the trending threads.
