Are new members assigned a name now? And can they not chat them? It's very confusing!

I think its to do with registering on the app.

Its really annoying but there have been a load of threads about it, and MN either can't or won't do anything

What I've found - and I'm sure many other MNers too - is that I think they are all one and the same person, so I CBA to get involved.

Apparently it is possible for them to subsequently NC to a 'proper' name - but many of them don't realise this.

Frankly, I think it was a daft thing to instigate in the first place.
