I KNOW WHY!

They wanted it to appear at the bottom of the list so that when people were looking at the "last day" messages it wouldn't come at the top and take up pages and pages. Putting the ! in front means it starts with a character that comes after Z so will always appear at the bottom.

Have to question your police work there, CD.

There is an underscore in front of chat for that reason.

If you go onto the topics page, just beneath the folder icon for _chat there is an upside down exclamation mark (or the letter i?)

CountessDracula · 01/06/2004 17:23

Oh sorry I didn't look, just assumed that was what you were talking about!

CountessDracula · 01/06/2004 17:23

(as David Brent would say, never assume cos it makes an ass out of u and me)

Kayleigh · 01/06/2004 18:14

ooohhh I was right it was a mistake. Does that mean I qualify as tech3 ?

SoupDragon · 01/06/2004 18:58

I think it's a i rather than an inverted !

If you view the source for the page, there's a i lurking in solitary splendour after the list of text that puts the topic headers up.

Can I be Tech4??
