Zombie Threads

I've noticed a large amount of zombie threads lately, one recently was from 2009.
Couldn't there be a way of making them harder to bump?
I don't know, something like the OP's post in red with Zombie stamped over it?
Having to enter your password if you want to respond to a thread that is over six months old?
Archiving threads of a certain vintage so that they can be read but not opened again?
Please?

Cull old threads unless they're to go in Classics. It cures the issue of real old zombies, saves MN storage space and would make Advanced Search an easier-to-use function.
