How do I get the app back?

I was just told on my screen that the test app had expired and the iPad wouldn't let me enter it. Unwisely, perhaps, I deleted it and tried to go back to the old app - to discover I can't get into that either.

Any suggestions?

I enjoy mumsnet on the app, I've got the flu feeling very sorry for myself and they stop the app! I'm gutted

Ah - give it another try. I must have been unlucky to go back into it at just the wrong time ie when something was changing. It will now let you in to the old-style app. (As a 'new start' in effect)

Yes. That's what I went back to - it's living in the App Store. Bit of a PITA to have to start from scratch with everything (mostly - it seems a little confused! ) but I like the app.

Actually - the app in the App Store is the test app isn't it? Looks as if they've consolidated the changes.

It just occurred to me that the old app - to my memory - used to have 'other posters' names in grey and - eg - no name change facility. The current App Store offering seems to be the new version.

Yes it did indeed. Was changed in the latest beta version. I quite like it though!

Hi guys - I'm a few days late to the party, but just to check - where did you get the original test version of the app from? The version on the App Store is the most recent version, so I'd recommend using that.

Test versions of the app (beta) are always more likely to have bugs, and generally won't be as stable as the App Store version so it's always a good idea to revert to the App Store one after testing.

Also, if you have automatic updates switched on (Settings > App Store > Updates), the App Store version will automatically be kept up to date.

I think I was just unlucky enough, Tim, to come out and in again at just the very point of changeover. (It was the official Beta I had.) All seems normal now. (Forbye it still has some quirkettes.)
