Bonkers TAB accumilation

Hi,
Have been on site on and off this morning, and in the last 10 minutes or so I've noticed that every time I click on a thread or try to refresh a page, a new tab opens on my browser Confused .
I currently have had 7 tabs open just to send this message.

This has never happened before - any ideas? - and no, this is categorically NOT an April Fool.

Is it possible you have accidentally turned this setting on in your browser? What browser are you using?

Sorry, got a phone call and had to go.
I turned off the computer before I left, have now come back to find it working ok.

I did check re accidentally pressed buttons/levers/etc, but nothing....just one of life's mysteries I guess.
