problems typing on mobile site...anyone else?

A while ago I had some problems (as did others) with using the mobile site with SwiftKey keyboard. I'm now having the same problems (jumbled up text, slow appearance of words, jumping back through text and replacing etc) with my phone's stock keyboard! I've hardly replied to any threads recently because it's so difficult and irritating. I think the consensus last time was that it was a SwiftKey issue but I have tried swiftkey and my phone's stock keyboard now, on both chrome and Firefox mobile. I'm using an android phone.
Please help!

Hi jinxdragon - which phone do you use? And FlyBy are you also using Chrome and/or Firefox?

Yup, massive problem here. Pretty much unusable, several second lag between typing and it appearing on the site. Chrome mobile, on Android.

It Is definitely the mobile site not my phone, as I have switched to the desktop site (on my mobile) to post this, and am having no issues...

I think it may be related to the adverts? I was just ona thread with a "Wink Bingo" advert at the bottom and that really slowed things down (long video style advert with sound, that loops). This page with a static advert at the bottom is causing no problems.

(Incidentally, for some reason J thought MN didn't accept gambling adverts?)

Hmm that's possible...

I use adblock and it's still happening so not sure it's the ads in my case...

The "Eat Better Feel Better" ad also made typing impossible....

Could you maybe ditch the video ads from the mobile site?

And there was me thinkingiit was my phone getting old! Just typing this and pressing post has taken me at least 2 minutes - v annoying!

I'm having the same issue with Safari on iPhone. There's a video ad that seems to be struggling to load a lot of the time.

I think it would be much better if ads on MN were just the picture type rather than video type, I've had this before with video ads.
