thank you, thank you, thank you my fans

I do think as MN gets bigger and bigger and poeple aren't so open minded and accepting as they once appeared to be perhaps. They also don't GET certain people, hence the divides

colditz · 20/12/2006 19:17

Also, Mumsnet originally attracted the types of women who were the quite girls at the back of the class, with the evil sense of humour that nobody knew about because nobody listened. We all came to Mumsnet where the netball team can't find us, and the boys won't interupt us with fart noises.

Well, I think the netball team found us.

I was crap at netball.

I have been unpleasant lately.

I am ashamed of myself and I apologise unreservedly to anyone I've upset or shocked.

Please be kind to me though - I have an ear infection and I am sore and deaf (which for someone in my line of work is somewhat of a hindrance).

LadyTophamHatt · 20/12/2006 19:28

I was crap at netball too. Only ever played centre because I could never work out where I was allowed to go in the other positions.

Stuipd bloody game if you ask me.

hunkermunker · 20/12/2006 19:30

ROFL, me too, LTH!

I remember colouring in a netball pitch diagram with GA and GD and QA and WD and C all over it (there were other positions too, I'm sure of it?) to show who could go where.

hunkermunker · 20/12/2006 19:30

QA?! WA!

DarrellRivers · 20/12/2006 19:31

was wondering where QA played?

crunchie · 20/12/2006 19:31

Well when I played netball I kept being sent off for being to violent!! I was only going for the ball FFS, just cos herface and my elbow collided it wasn't my fault, nor was the time I had long nails and mananged to draw blood up the side of someones face, hockey was the same, ankles, balls, they look the same covered in mud

LadyTophamHatt · 20/12/2006 19:33

QA=Quite Aggressive position especailly for all the crunchies playinmg....

hunkermunker · 20/12/2006 19:34

LOL Crunchie (btw, your DDs are gorgeous - thanks for showing me pics of them at the meetup!).

iota · 20/12/2006 19:34

we played lacrosse - now that's a game with very few rules

LadyTophamHatt · 20/12/2006 19:35

OH god...hockey stick are the best and funniest item of school epuipment ever invented.

I lost count how many time I'd hook the ankles of the girl in front in the warm up run around the pitch.

It was just far tooo tempting!!

LittleBoSheep · 20/12/2006 19:36

I was always last picked for netball. All those strident girls shouting "here, here" I just stood there thinking "dont throw that damn thing at me I dont give a toss!!" and dont get me started on hockey...stood out in the cold with purple legs...and cross country running...what the bloody hell was that about?

The only reasons for running are if youre going to miss a bus or last orders at the pub!!

crunchie · 20/12/2006 19:36

strange enough I did play QA or C

SaggarClaus · 20/12/2006 19:37

I got knocked out playing netball - maybe your lot were the opposition crunchie!

ComeOyeFaithfulVeneer · 20/12/2006 19:37

Sorry to hear you are poorly Hunker. DS was up all last night with a raging temp and stinky cold. Hopefully not a repeat tonight. Have you not been playing nicely recently? How is being back at work going?
(Hijack over)

LittleBoSheep · 20/12/2006 19:39

Just realised I was on one of the threads that got deleted - dont think I was being horrid though.

hunkermunker · 20/12/2006 19:42

Hey, COV! No, I've been a proper cow lately - I get carried away and press post before thinking things through

Work fab - I love it, but DH had to ring in and tell them I'd not be in tomorrow because I can't hear anything. Still, the children pester me more quietly, so that's a bonus, I guess

Really sorry to hear about DS - hope he's feeling much better v soon. How is DD? Dare I ask about your move?

ComeOyeFaithfulVeneer · 20/12/2006 19:45

WE EXCHANGED TODAY, MOVING 4TH OF JANUARY (sorry but some things just have to be shouted ).
