Why can't I namechange back to my old name?

Why can't I namechange back to my old name?
It says the name is already in use

Had this same problem.
I changed to a Christmas name and now I am unable to go back...

I had this problem too - I emailed MNHQ and they put me back to this name but now I'm a bit scared to change in case I can't get it back.

I'm using Microsoft Edge

Same problem here and I'm using Safari on a Macbook.

I was on Chrome on a Windows 10 laptop when it happened to me.

any update??

I get this error, but ignore it, put in password etc and find the name change goes through regardless.
