Thread pages wrong width on iPad

Funnily enough, not this page.

Using Safari, not app.

Here's a screen shot. I always hold my iPad 'sideways' - landscape.

It starts loading as if for landscape view, but once the advert's loaded, it shrinks to portrait view width, even though I hold my iPad as landscape.

Seems to be in _chat threads only for me, if that helps?

(If that helps hq, i doubt it helps you jux Grin )

It's the Twitter feed that's messing it up, it's the wrong size for the page.

DawnMumsnet · 02/01/2016 18:01

Hi all,

Thanks for letting us know that the site's looking a bit wrong on the iPad. We'll alert our Tech team and let you know as soon as we've heard back.

wickedwaterwitch · 02/01/2016 19:53

It's odd for me too

cozietoesie · 02/01/2016 20:22

Mine seems fine. Have you tried it on Firefox, Jux?

NickNacks · 02/01/2016 20:23

Why not use the mobile site on your iPad? Much easier.

wickedwaterwitch · 02/01/2016 20:24

It's only in chat

RingDownRingUp · 02/01/2016 20:34

Same here. The tiny print hurts my eyes! iPad, Safari, all updates done.

Sorry, that photo doesn't really show the problem 😳

Jux · 02/01/2016 23:02

Cozie does Firefox work on an iPad?

They brought out a FF app some weeks back, Jux. (I loathe Safari.) You'll find it in the App Store. Smile

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 03/01/2016 05:11

It's the Twitter box that's causing the problem I think - it goes past the blank column shown in the OPs picture up to the edge of the screen.

Jux · 03/01/2016 12:30

I may do that, Cozie, but tbh I have so many apps now it's beginning to annoy me! For instance, I can't just open a browser tab and go to google maps any more, I have to find the Maps app among all the other apps on my (millions of!) home screens, and so on. That's one reason why I don't have the MN app.

Sounds like some 'housekeeping' is needed? Wink

The.MN app is actually very good. - and I rather like the speed and robustness of the FF one. ( So far.) The latter is only a start of course but Mozilla are a pretty responsive bunch so I suspect it will improve greatly with user feedback.

Good luck anyway. Smile
