Because the threads within them are historically important and must never be deleted.

I imagine it's for the same reason that the majority of threads stay for ever and ever,

It's because we like to reminisce - about the Olympics and other jolly topics from yesteryear, not so much the swine flu... Hmm

We do have the occasional cull, though, and the new year's usually the time we do it. Let us know if there are any that you really think we should get shot of!

Anything over 6 months old unless specifically nominated for retention/in Classics would be my vote. (Removed from the public site that is - HQ should feel free to have them all to play with if they wish. Wink)
