Ok here's the plan.
Now you mention it, we think you've all got a point about the wasted space on the left hand side of the screen (the beige bar)
so we will go back to our lovely designer (plse God she's not been reading this morning) and ask her to have ago at moving that navigation across the top of the page, so it's more like things were before and so there's more width for talk.

We will also continue to play with fonts, colours, spacing and hues until we silence (or at the very least quieten) the hue and cry...

The bright blue of the old thread titles when looking for stuff was easy on the eye and made titles distinctive enough to read without actually having to read any other bumpf making things easier. It's all in the same colour making it very very hard on the eyes. I had to come off for a while (maybe I need glasses). I also agree that the thing on the left needs to go up top.

Hello, Tech is Tech - designers are the arty farty ones who do colours etc. Tech's never done colours and trust me, you don't want Tech doing colours - you should see his front room .

That's why we like Tech though, he's not arty farty and will do the site with practicalities in mind - not trying to make it look like the inside of Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen's boxers!

Can I add a quick request for when you're logging in at the bottom of the page, under the message box - can the cursor go straight from 'Nickname' to 'password' when you hit the tab key, rather than having to tab past 'click here for a reminder' and 'you can join here' on the way, please? I'm sure it used to do that, didn't it?

But I'm not too outraged about the changes - I reckon once I've been using it for a week, I won't notice.

I agree with UCM (assuming it is UCM...) that the titles of the threads need something to make them more obvious.

And I really need to have the threads I've looked at highlighted again. PLEASE!
