Mumsnet banners...milk tray etc won't stay closed

It's driving me potty, how can I make sure they close and stay closed? Every time I go to a new page it comes back. It's putting me right off milk tray.

Oh dear.
Can they not be stopped coming back once I have closed them once?
They come up on every page and I close, go to another page and they pop up again!

Irritating, aren't they? I did wonder, they occasionally seem to be the reason MN refuses to load, times out or just disappears.

But I assume they are a money spinner or a good idea for another reason.

But they are still irritating.

They are so annoying. Milk Tray is revolting anyway, therefore it should be someone revolting to be the next Milk Tray man.

Any suggestions?

Now there's another one that I just closed and it INSTANTLY came back.
Why the hell is there a cross to close the bloody things if it doesn't work?
