I always forget to bookmark threads, especially after i've posted but it would be really great if when we return to a thread, it goes back to our last post automatically?

Would that be possible lovely MNHQ?

Hi LEM - ooh that's an interesting suggestion. We'll add it to the list to discuss.

tribpot · 01/12/2015 17:06

I vote for that one - good idea LEM.

emwithme · 01/12/2015 17:12

Oh, that would be fantastic.

If we're also doing wishes, I'd love to be able to have the choice just to see threads that have had new posts since my last visit (lots of other forums I'm on have this, it's great).

thankyou x

Although I think this is a lovely idea, wouldn't it be better if MNHQ fixed all the current glitches, like PMs, the disappearance of threads you've read turning a different colour, not sending eleventy million PMs re Secret Santa etc etc before tinkering with anything else?

I am not being arsey & I know this is a free site but it seems crazy to me to change stuff before the whole site is working better.

Of all the forums & sites I've ever used MN seems to have the most glitches.

tribpot · 01/12/2015 18:37

I think "sort this shit out" is probably the main requirement of most of the regular MN users, magimedi. However, it doesn't hurt to throw new features on the list as well, especially something which looks reasonably straight forward to do (much as I hate end users saying "it's a one line code change" of course) and adds some usability benefits.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 01/12/2015 18:39

That's an awesome idea!

zombiesarecoming · 01/12/2015 18:47

Excellent idea

magimedi · 01/12/2015 19:58

And maybe sort out people being redirected to porn sites?

FFS, MNHQ (much as I love you all) you really let down women. This site is primarily (but not exclusively ) for women & from a tech point of view it is not at the top of its game.

What sort of message does it give out?

Run by women (on the whole) & filled with problems?

Sort it out & then take on board other stuff.

DawnMumsnet · 02/12/2015 21:11

Hi magimedi, not sure if you've seen but we have a whole other thread about this redirection issue. Here's the link. Colette from our Ads team has been posting on the thread and is very much on the case. Here's one of her posts:

"Mumsnet is not being targeted specifically, this will also be happening on other forums/news sites etc too, we all use similar technology.

If this happens again, we would recommend coming out of the browser app (by tapping a home button) and then "force" closing the browser app, iOS and android instructions here. This will close any other browser windows you have open but will allow you to re-open the browser app again and continue browsing normally."

DawnMumsnet · 02/12/2015 21:13

Now, back to the own post bookmarking idea. Grin

Any more thoughts on that?

AnyFucker · 02/12/2015 21:14

that is a good idea

TheoriginalLEM · 02/12/2015 22:07

Its just that in busy threads you might post something but miss re3plies because several pages have gone by since you posted. I neer remember to bookmark. so if it automatically bookmarks to your last post, with the option still open to rtft as it were, you will go back to the last page you were on.
