Option To Hide Threads?

Just an idea really... theres been alot of talk about the "In The News" threads etc., and I was wondering if it was possible/feasible to have an option to hide a thread you dont want to see? I know ive seen threads where I wish I could sort of hide them, as the title pops up again and again in active convos... Just an idea really...

I have suggested that you have a "pick your own" active conversations

You go in pick the ones you want to read and then that is your favourites button

It seems to negate the need for all the active cons buttons - there would just be 2 - all topics and your own personnel favourites

Good idea

Well - the thing is, I like reading some news stories, but obviously not others... same with some other topics. I wouldnt want to cut out a whole topic as such... I think if I saw a thread title that upset me, I could quickly hide it and forget about it, rather than cutting out the whole section they may occur. Unless we had an option when we wrote threads to "register" them as sensitive, and have the ability to block them - but I think thats abit of a silly idea.

My idea wouldn't work for that - but it would solve half those buttons along the top

Surely we are all big enough to just not read something we dont like the look of.

All sounds a bit OTT to be hiding topics because we might not like them.

Aaaah quick, hide that style thread, I cant stand sparkly jumpers..

Quootiepie · 07/12/2006 17:06

well - its more that the titles jump up again and again... just an idea...

OK, so wrongly worded but you known what I mean. Surely we just choose not to look at it. It just brings us back to the old 'its an open forum etc' chestnut.

Maybe just carefully wored titles then would solve the problem... but then I guess different people get effected by different things...
