See I think it just looks happy and friendly :) A head tilt could work!

Or they could just ask you and you'd say no, I really mean that Smile or of course it's a sarky Smile

winchester1 · 22/10/2015 19:36

RJnomaaaaaargh · 22/10/2015 19:38

I don't think they're all PA. I just think of them as smileys. The same way as you would smile as someone in RL if you said something. I think some people only use them in a PA way which is may be where the confusion comes from.

I wasn't really humming at you btw I was just demonstrating

The fun is in the ambiguity. Like the Flowers on a Dramatic Troll thread.

Debinaround · 22/10/2015 20:27

Are you kidding me? I did not know that a Smile Could be taken as PA. Ffs. Sorry to everyone I have offended.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 22/10/2015 20:28

Oh shit, I think I may have accidently pissed off a few mners. BlushGrin

Sparklingbrook · 22/10/2015 20:32

bumbleymummy · 22/10/2015 20:37

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 22/10/2015 23:05

Hmm.
Not sure that having a smiley just for Passive Aggression is in the spirit of the site.
Peace and love and all that, non?

GrinSmile

Please note we are not smilist.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 22/10/2015 23:09

You do know I'm trawling through old threads now trying to see who has Smile ed at me and I thought they were just being nice
Grin

bumbleymummy · 23/10/2015 09:41

Thanks Olivia. I was more thinking that it would allow us to use the existing smiley without it being mistaken for PA. :)
