MN - is it really appropriate to have pictures of dead children on a parenting site?

I appreciate that the issue is shocking, and that it sounds callous as many have no choice but to avoid images but to be confronted with it every time I scroll down a mumsnet thread is awful. And as some have pointed out, it could also be seen as disrespectful. I had already seen the image in another place, but it feels so jarring to have it appear alongside a jokey thread or similar.

Most of the posters here are mothers. Many will have children of a similar age. A lot of us are already doing things to help the refugee crisis. Please, rethink this.

I thought exactly the same when I saw it. Although I don't think it will be the last we see of this poignant image

I thought the same so I emailed them and they took it down v quickly.

No - and it will stay with me for a long time. Whoever recently said that the refugee crisis and how Europe handles it will be remembered from this decade is I think spot on.

I thought that too, especially as they had "More great reads from today" captioned underneath. Glad they have taken it down. Poor boy :(

Thank goodness they have changed it. The pictures I have seen in the newspaper weren't as graphic as that. I found it very upsetting.
