Mumsnet banners at the bottom of pages (another complaint sorry)

I nearly always use my mobile for MN and when banners like this appear they mean half the page is taken up with stuff. Plus there's no way to get rid of the banner (I don't want to click on it because that would make you think I liked it), and the same banners come up repeatedly when I'm logged in.

I know Tech are trying to have a clear out at the moment but it would be really, really lovely if you could put an opt-out in Customise or a big helpful cross to remove the banner on the mobile site? Please?

Hi Empress - which phone are you using?

lighteningirl · 06/08/2015 13:50

Snap spectacularly annoying on my kindle fire, once the keypad is up all you can see is the banners which are repetitive boring and for me pointless. Can't even see what I am typing!

thequickbrownfox · 06/08/2015 13:51

I agree - they're taking up too much space and making it much harder to take the discussions in properly. I'm on iPhone 5. In fact I've stopped using mn quite so often on my phone because they annoy me too much! Shock

Hi Becca. iPhone 5 too, mobile site.

Thank you everyone - we've passed the info on to Tech and they're looking into things.

Try clicking where the x should be - suggested on another thread and it worked for me.

ophiotaurus · 07/08/2015 16:21

I have this too. iPhone 5s safari mobile site.

bittapitta · 07/08/2015 16:24

The banner is occasionally making my quick links bar at the bottom disappear entirely (not sure what it's called, the one with icons for Active, Watching, etc). I'm using chrome browser on an android phone.

GreyAndGoldInTheMeadow · 07/08/2015 16:33
