If you gently throw a ball to him (best not to let Dad do this, as gently throwing a ball is not a male concept)

Along with torturing a 9 month old by showing him too many bricks to hold!!!

I love these emails sooo much Do they stop eventually or do you get "Your 18 yr old"? There could be some classics there....

Hi there

Glad you like the mails - we love them too (we can say that as we didn't write them!)

They come every 3 months till age 1 then every six months (apart from a special on potty training - something to look forward to) until age 5. Maybe we should ask for suggestions for developmental email info for ages 5 plus....agree it could get quite interesting!

Thanks for the feedback, always encouraging when someone says they like something!

LMAO FD - ooh yes I jsut had to try that last night with J - 3 carrot sticks thou! i'm such a cruel mummy! lol.

FrivolentDemon · 23/11/2006 14:18

Pampers etc only tell you the standard stuff - they don't tell you how to tease children of certain ages or things like dads throwing balls (I seem to recall one recently talking about mum being hungover??).

I like the more comical side of them.

The next few stages would be great - teenagers with periods and voices breaking

i used to torture dd's by giving them a piece of toast in each hand, then showing them another

BAFFLED isnt the word!

i stopped when dd2 nearly choked to death when she shoved one of the bits she was holding in her mouth so she could take the 3rd piece...

munz · 23/11/2006 14:18

lol NP - J just decicde to drop one so he could grab the 3rd! lol.

FrivolentDemon · 23/11/2006 14:19

DS was doing that the other night - choking on one bit of mince and frantically trying to shovel pasta in so he could hold the next bit

Carrie - any chance you could resend the 3 y 6 m one to me as I am pretty darn sure I never got it, and I am a huge, brown nosing fan of the MN emails?

carriemumsnet · 23/11/2006 16:47

OK I lied - must be going bonkers in my old age - they come every six months from age one to three and then just one a year... so you haven't missed anything. But if you'd like a preview /warning (!) of what's to come you can see them all here or go to the home page and click on your child

Enjoy!

Ah

you got me all excited there
