Hating the Starbucks thing

I dont even get the choice as to whether to show the whole ad, it automatically scrolls down, the page takes ages to load and the ad style is really bloody irritating!

Do we have to have that style of ad? It makes the page horrible to look at.

I was just about to start a thread about the same thing, Bogey. It's been going on for days.

It seems to auto-load if you can't circumvent it quickly.

I absolutely HATE it MNHQ. Why are you allowing this stuff?

Ads, fine, I know you need to make money - but these types of ads are awful.

I agree with Bogey, it doesn't happen every time.

The only way I can describe it is thus.

(I'm on a MacBookPro using Safari, at the moment, FYI)

If I move my cursor to the very left, or right, hand 'white space', then the Starbucks ad arrives as a, sort-of, back-drop, behind the MN page. Then there's the 'roundy, circly' thing, which pops up on the centre of the screen. If you don't do anything, then the whole MN page 'sinks' to the bottom and you're stuck with a Starbucks page.

I've discovered the only way to circumvent it quickly, is by swiftly clicking on a thread title - any thread title.

It could be hard to take a screenshot, Becca, because the damn thing is constantly moving!

ad blocker?

I have an ad blocker as part of my (paid for) anti virus and 9 time out of 10 it doesnt come up, but 1 out of 10 times, it does. No idea why.

Saying that, it just happened again

Until they fix it Bogey I recommend AdBlockPLus, it's an add on for your browser

That's the one Bogey. It's happened a couple of times to me today again. But I've still not managed to 'catch' it on a screenshot.

But, I think it is important that MNHQ can see it - so that they can zap it
