Notifications from "threads I'm watching"

So, the notification email from a thread I am watching says breezily that I can turn off notifications by clicking on a link in the email called "talk preferences". Except there is no such option when I click, nor can I find preference settings anywhere within my profile or account area. I'm on an android tablet if that makes a difference. Thanks for any help.

oh, i didnt know you can have notifications...how do you turn them on?

I have no idea I'm afraid - it must have been some sort of default setting when I registered. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable might fill us in.

If you go to 'I'm watching', Pirate - click to receive email notifications - there's an either/or button just under 'Results of Search'. (I've also got 'Receive email notificatons' set to 'Yes' in the Other Options in Customise - I suspect you have to have them both marked to On.)

In my own experience, the notifcations are a bit patchy, though, so I wouldn't necessarily rely on them entirely.

PS - that's on the Desktop Site. I don't know if the facility is available on the Mobile Site and I'm assuming that the App doesn't have it.

Hi sycamore54321 - are you using the mobile site?

If you scroll down to the bottom to access the desktop site and go on to the 'I'm watching' page, you can turn these off quickly using the buttons at the top.
