Do MNHQ delete threads just because the OP asks to have it deleted now?

It used to near on impossible to have your own threads deleted on here.

Hallo
Nope.
We advise people to hide the thread - there are occasions when we agree to remove a thread for the OP as it will out them. But no, we don't just pull a thread cos the OP doesn't like the way it's turned out, as we know folk have taken time to reply.

Well you did today Grin

Which thread are we talking about?

usualsuspect333 · 31/05/2015 23:05

The grass cutting neighbour one.

Same the other day, not a single piece of identifying information but the OP was kicking up a tantrum about a perceived slight, all of a sudden....poof! Hmm

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 31/05/2015 23:07

Really? Confused. I don't recall the OP revealing anything that might out herself in that thread.

WorraLiberty · 01/06/2015 10:53

This is happening more and more.

Threads get deleted 'to protect the poster's privacy', when all that's happened is the OP has thrown a hissy fit.

Koalafications · 01/06/2015 10:55

Yes, agree that this is happening more often.

usualsuspect333 · 01/06/2015 11:00

I'm not really bothered as such, I just wondered if MNHQs policy on having a thread deleted had changed.

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 01/06/2015 11:43

They keep saying it hasn't changed but more and more Mnetters are noticing this.

BareGorillas · 01/06/2015 11:50

The 'policy' for deletion is the same but they have changed what they allow or consider as identifiable facts, they are definitely using this reason more readily than in the past, - case in point the grass cutting thread.

WowProjectingMuch · 02/06/2015 00:28

Oh dear, I missed the last posts on that thread but I, jokingly, suggested ( under another name) that the OP post a few fictional identifying posts such as her neighbours name and then she could get the thread deleted. Blush. I don't know if the OP followed my ironic advice.

i don't think it's hard to get a thread deleted if you want. I suppose if it's upsetting an OP, even an OP who is in the wrongs then maybe that's not such a bad thing. Confused

It must be tricky for MNHQ to be consistant.

CloserToFiftyThanTwenty · 02/06/2015 01:09

I wondered where the grass cutting one went...
