Oh no. Sorry to hear this. How annoying. We've sent Tech an email and asked their advice. We'll post here as soon as we hear back. Hope you can bear with us until then without the aid of migraine tablets.

I'm fed up of flagging these kind of adverts to be honest. They are horrid. MN should be better than this. They get rid of one and another comes along, all of the same ilk.

They are very annoying. Especially the one which mimics Facebook.

Oh come on, MNHQ. Over and over again we flag these ads up. Over and over and over again.

The 'you've got mail' scam is back again.

I stick a post it on iPad where flashing or changing adverts are concerned makes me eyes go funny

I keep getting one which looks like a series of fantasy symbols and one is an envelope symbol with a red 1 on it, as if it is a message. It opens a box offering a prize draw for an iPad if you click to confirm you are the owner of 'this apple device'. No way am I clicking , but I can't then Close the box without turning of my phone and clearing all favorites. Is this a MN thing or has something got into my phone ?

I got the thing with the iPhone box I couldn't get rid of and had to clear all my history and cookies which was annoying. Now if I get the banner ad I close MN and reopen and it goes but it's very annoying

Blu, it was the same thing as you got so I think it's MN, it was on my iPhone

I get it on my blackberry. It's made to look like the symbols on the mobile FB site.

Ok, it is a MN thing then. I am using the mobile MN on an iPhone 5. It is incredibly annoying because you cannot shut down the box, or navigate to another open page. I am not prepared for my phone to be taken over in this way so I'm logging off for a few weeks until I can be sure it's been well and truly dealt with ( it has happened before...) Byeee!

I have logged in from my computer but am not logging in from phone until it is gone - too much trouble, and it worries me, a box that you can't shut down or navigate away from.
