Subject: Quick question...

This argument seems to be rumbling on......would a vote be possible to end the fight? Possibly from those who used the SN board for a month before the switch as JimJams has suggested?

REPLY RECEIVED TODAY FROM MN

Hi there

Thanks for your mail. We've deleted some of the posts on this thread and are keeping our eyes on it (although it does appear to have calmed down over the last couple of hours). We will be discussing the effects of the changes to the SN boards next week and will let you know via the 'Site stuff' boards, whether there will be any changes. We've also asked tech to bring up the stats for the SN boards both before and after the change and again, will keep you informed of this on the boards.

Thanks again for your mail.

Best wishes

Rachel

I don't get it, what's the issue? I mean I don't know what's gone down and whose noses have been put out of joint.

MamaG · 11/11/2006 15:35

There seems to be a fight whenever it is mentioned - some want it, some don't.

I thought a vote among users of SN board would be fairest and Jimjams agreed so I emailed MN to see what they thought.

I thought this was argued about ages ago and resolved?

2Shoes · 11/11/2006 22:35

this is so like that film groundhog day

MamaG · 12/11/2006 08:40

Well no, it wasn't resolved at all - the argument rumbles on.

Thats the reason I sent the email to MN - to try to resolve it once and for all.

MamaG I think it is just best to let people say what they think, but encourage a respectful type of debate instead of insults and so on. Attempts to stop people talking if they still feel they have things to say, are destined to end in tears.

I don't see why we can't discuss it for as long as necessary until people feel comfortable about it.

MamaG · 12/11/2006 08:59

Well, you would think so Franny, but it still gets nasty

Its awful and I thought that if a vote was taken, then the argumetns would end

Trying to put a lid on things just makes them fester, though

sometimes it's better to have it out in the open

but yes just avoid those threads if they upset you - I know it is hard
