Hi I simply don't really know how to do a few things when typing a msg

Tag someone
Quote someone
Write in bold
Strikethrough

Any help much appreciated

Thanks for you post.
We have a new MN app in development at the moment, it should be released later this year. Until then, our mobile site is pretty good, have you tried it?

In response to your questions:

• MNetters tend not to tag one another, they write the other person's Talk user name in bold (see below)
• Mumsnet doesn't give users the quote facility
• To write in bold you add a * immediately before and after the word or sentence you'd like to bold.
• To strikethrough text add -- before and after the word or sentence you'd like to strike through.

On the desktop and mobile site there are instructions on how to do these things under the box you post from and there is also info on emoticions

How do you add a photo and view others photos?

Hi Helen,

Open your browser and use the mobile site.
Add your message as you normally would and then click on the paperclip icon and you'll be able to add a photo.
