Hmm? Hmmm???

We've all been very patient on the other thread - what's your pleasure??

If you do, then does England, Wales etc get their own too?

SirChenjin · 03/04/2015 11:02

If they wish. The whole purpose of a Scottish section is to discuss specific issues like law, property and education which are completely different up here, as opposed to a breakaway site which none of us want. We have to caveat with 'we're in Scotland' or explain what P1 means, for example, so many times on these particular threads that it makes sense to have a Scotland thread which we can post under for certain conversations.

Just to pin my colours to the mast though - I'm an ardent No voter, and certainly don't want this to turn into another indy referendum. I've had enough of that to last a lifetime.

I am pretty sure the Scotsnet one was a yes. AFAIK (and I am kept in the dark about most things really Wink) we are looking for the best name tbh, but as ever, tis a bank hol and we need the 9 to 5 powers that be to reticulate splines etc and put the widgets in place.
Thanks

SirChenjin · 03/04/2015 16:44

The only post I could see from HQ was that you could see there was a lot of support for it - not a concrete 'yes'. Look forward to seeing how it develops Smile

Right step away from the chocolate and get some work done....pleeeeeeasssseeeee

SunshineAndShadows · 07/04/2015 07:49

Has anyone from England or Wales actually actually asked for their own bits of the site and would they actually be used (considering the main body of the site covers English education, law etc?) Or is it just the usual 'well if the Scots get one we want one too or its not fair' reaction?

Disclaimer: I'm English<

Having lived in Scotland I think it's a good idea as things are quite different.

liveloveluggage · 07/04/2015 07:59

If the Scots get Scotsnet can we have a section for Sussex, Essex and Wessex? Obviously it will be known as Sexnet. We may want to go independent at some point, just saying Easter Wink

Christinayangstwistedsister · 07/04/2015 09:28

Yes of course as the laws in Sussex etc are all different aren't they?

Tobagostreet · 07/04/2015 09:36

I'll be glad to see a section dedicated to Scottish (law, education, etc).... But I'm EnvyEnvyEnvyEnvy of Sexnet GrinWink

Christinayangstwistedsister · 07/04/2015 09:54

I know...how could we work it into the title?

On Sexnet we will not be focusing so much on laws and so on but on important local culture such as TOWIE, Local people such as Jamie Oliver ( Essex) and Katie Price (Sussex) and local custom I.e what to wear on Brighton beach this summer.

Christinayangstwistedsister · 07/04/2015 17:46

Sod scotsnet I am joining sexnet

JustineMumsnet · 08/04/2015 22:13

Yes. [Gavel]. Is Scotsnet the preferred name, then?

SirChenjin · 10/04/2015 14:56

Wahey!! Not sure if everyone saw this - will take it back to the main thread Smile

PacificDogwood · 10/04/2015 22:51

'Scotsnet' sounds good to me better than Sexnet anyway - imagine your search history
Thanks

frankie80 · 11/04/2015 13:51

I don't care what the name is, as long as we get our own place.

feels smug and proud to be the one who kickstarted all this

Actually on that note, can it be called frankiesnet? Grin

Where is it going to be on the boards anyway?
