I've asked for a thread to be deleted - how long does it take please?

OP posts:
Pagwatch · 04/03/2015 19:52

It will depend on whether they agree to delete it.
They don't delete threads just because you ask.
Why do you want it removed?

PeppaPigStinks · 04/03/2015 19:58

Because I posted waaay to much personal information on it! And now I am paranoid! When I google my employment issue it comes up as well- meaning if the issue I had today is googled by all involved it will show in the results!Confused

(Yep- feeling mega crap now)

PeppaPigStinks · 04/03/2015 19:59

I understand hq are probably busy! But i am feeling rather anxious about it all now Sad

AnyFucker · 04/03/2015 20:00

Have you reported the original post on your thread and explained your fears of someone coming across it ?

PeppaPigStinks · 04/03/2015 20:03

I have reported it twice! Third time I think I put too much info in it Confused

OP posts:
PeppaPigStinks · 04/03/2015 20:03

I don't think I can report it again.... Can I!?

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 04/03/2015 20:05

Yes, course. Have you checked your email address ?

PeppaPigStinks · 04/03/2015 20:07

Yes no email yet!

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 04/03/2015 20:08

I have read your thread. I don't think there is anything too incriminating in it. You are simply asking a question.

PeppaPigStinks · 04/03/2015 20:12

Thank you - but it is clearly me if anyone in work decides to look at it. They have said no (after posting me thread) so I think it will cause a lot of anger if anyone in my work reads it!

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 04/03/2015 20:19

Aww. That seems a bit hardline to me. Nobody has exactly invested too much in it, so who would be bothered or inconvenienced by it going ? And you would feel better.

I've hidden it and it's moved to 30 days.
What does hiding a thread do?

(extremely long term lurker, rare post and clearly have just got my fingers burned so will go back to my usual lurking MN addiction )

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 04/03/2015 20:32

hiding only hides it from you

PeppaPigStinks · 04/03/2015 20:32

Also what will happen if I report the posts?
They have looked at it for me now / still won't delete it (plleeeaaaassee Hq) as it's not too incriminating

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 04/03/2015 20:33

"30 days" section means it will be disappear after 30 days

PeppaPigStinks · 04/03/2015 20:36

Ah that's no good!

OP posts:
FenellaFellorick · 04/03/2015 20:37

The more yyou post this, the more people will as your username and look up your thread.
If it's moved to 30 days it'll go poof then.

PeppaPigStinks · 04/03/2015 20:38

Thank you for your help!
I want it to go now- only because work are likely to be googling now!

OP posts:
FenellaFellorick · 04/03/2015 20:46

I hope they change their minds for you - or at least shift it to otbt so it's not googleable

iwashappy · 04/03/2015 20:50

If I was your employer and I looked at your thread I don't see that you have said anything in it that could get you into trouble. I hope it's resolved for you.

DawnMumsnet · 04/03/2015 21:41
