Does anyone else keep getting the site "Not Responding"?

This has been happening to me for a couple of weeks now. Things can be fine and then it hangs up and when I go to Task Manager I am told that Internet Explorer is Not Responding so I have to then end the program and restart the session. This can happen several times an hour.

I know this sounds like a problem with my browser but it only ever happens when I am on mumsnet.

Anyone else? Any ideas?

Hi OP. Google Chrome does seem to play up less so it's worth a go, but we will flag this with Tech and ask if there has been a problem. The site did go a bit wobbly at one point last week. Perhaps it was the high winds?... Yeah, we'll ask someone more technical.

SecretSquirrels · 24/02/2015 12:31

It's sooooo slow this week it's like using dial up. I use firefox and don't want to have to use a different browser just for MN.

wheresthebeach · 24/02/2015 12:54

I use Chrome and gave up yesterday as it was so slow; slow again today.

wheresthebeach · 24/02/2015 13:01

Hi MNHQ - to help your techies I timed it.

When I hit this thread it took 57 seconds to open it; all the time with the circle thing whizzing away. Other times bouncing between boards it was between 16-20 seconds. Not always - sometimes it was immediate.

ProfYaffle · 24/02/2015 14:16

I use Chrome and it's really bad at the moment, slow loading and lots of time outs/Gateway errors.

Sallystyle · 24/02/2015 16:07

Using Safari on laptop and very slow here too.

TheFecklessFairy · 24/02/2015 16:57

Yep - me too. Been like it for a couple of days. I have resorted to shouting at the screen when on MN...........it doesn't make any difference, though Smile

RonnieRat · 24/02/2015 20:04

I can't get on the site at all on my laptop it just times out (Firefox) and it's been hellishly slow on my phone for about a week now.

RonnieRat · 24/02/2015 20:05

Not working on explorer either.

pepperrabbit · 24/02/2015 20:11

Mine took over a minute to load this thread. I've resorted to playing candy crush while I wait for threads to open!
I'm on Internet Explorer 11 (so DH tells me, I'm a bit clueless)

TranquilityofSolitude · 24/02/2015 20:15

It's taking me more than 30 seconds to load any Mumsnet pages, both in Safari and Chrome. Other websites are working fine.

usualsuspect333 · 24/02/2015 20:16

It's slower than a slow thing

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/02/2015 20:18

Fairylea · 24/02/2015 20:21

Really slow here too :( using Internet Explorer on my Samsung note.

UpOnDown · 24/02/2015 20:25

I keep getting 'The connection was reset' on firefox

Waxlyrically · 24/02/2015 20:29

Mine is really slow to load pages tonight. Safari on an I pad. Other sites are fine.

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 24/02/2015 20:32

SORRY about this - we know it's annoying - we're trying to sort.

PulpsNotFiction · 24/02/2015 20:45

It's been slow now off and on for the last two weeks, really frustrating!

Using safari on iPad.

davidjrmum · 24/02/2015 20:51

Mumsnet unbelievably slow for me too today - can access other sites with no problem at all so not my browser.

Binkleflip · 24/02/2015 20:53

slow slow, using firefox on win7, other sites are fine.

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 24/02/2015 21:27

Better now????

nickelbarapasaurus · 24/02/2015 21:33

have to say, Olivia - that tonight i've been mainly using chrome (latest version) because i've been updating a wesbite, but normally i use firefox.

it's been really slow, on both browsers, and i've had to reboot them both a couple of times.
i've also cleared all of my cache and done a system clean up.

i had facebook open and it was perfectly fine, but as soon as i opened MN instead, it all went pearshaped

AnyFucker · 24/02/2015 21:42
