Can't log in on Ipad

I'm logged in on my laptop, but I can't log in on my Ipad - I'm not using the mobile app, just accessing MN through Safari...

Any ideas why...?

I've quickly tried safari on the ipad and I'm logged in fine. Out of interest, have you tried to load the app (in the app store) and logged in there? (Not that I would recommend using the App for any extended time. Roll on the new version.)

Hmm I had the app a while back, but got rid. Not because I didn't like it, but because I didn't want people looking at my Ipad and knowing about my MN addiction Grin

Still can't log in on the Ipad. Weird.

I'd shut it down properly and do a restart. That usually fixes 'moments' when they have them.

Good idea, I'll try that. I forget that my Ipad is permanently on, only going into sleep mode and never gets to shut down and restart.

Thank you!

Hi Rudebarb,

Have you had any luck logging in yet? Do shout if you need any help.

RudeBarbandCustard · 14/02/2015 14:40

Hi - still no luck. I've shut down IPad and restarted, but it still won't let me log in.

When I enter my username and password, it doesn't say they're wrong, but it just reverts back to the 'You need to log in to see this page' message.

Weird.

Grrr how annoying for you! Could we suggest clearing your cookies?

cozietoesie · 17/02/2015 13:19

Rude

There are some known problems with passwords on IOS 8.0.2. (And I HATE Safari anyway.) Can I just check whether you've updated to the IOS 8.0.3 which came out recently.

ScrambledSmegs · 22/02/2015 15:18

Cookies. I had exactly the same problem, and it was due to accidentally blocking all cookies.

If you go to Settings -> Safari, then Block Cookies and select Allow from current website, then it should be resolved.
