Do you think it's a good idea to have a non-public, password-protected area for those who've posted more than 5000 messages ?

I'm nostalgic. I'm cliquey. Are you in ?

no .. but for 50,000 maybe

harpsichordcarrion · 18/10/2006 21:30

how do you count hub?

CreepyCrawlyCarmenere · 18/10/2006 21:32

I had this idea earlier on today on the 'sn password 'thread. It hink that after two years you should automatically get sent a password to a special section

hub2dee · 18/10/2006 21:33

You can't hc, it's just a feeling of certainty.

(Actually, before Tech rejigged Search Archives, you'd get a total number of posts. Now it just says 'More than 500, get a life'.

Splendid letter to the school btw, Twig.

I've a way to go before I reach even 500 posts, I think.

Hub, I will reply to your email (probably tomorrow from work) and we will sort out a date!

harpsichordcarrion · 18/10/2006 21:36

oh christ, 5000 is surely a reasonable monthly estimate...
count me in

hub2dee · 18/10/2006 21:36

Basically, we concoct a formula for entry.

Registered user name since (time > 1 year) AND > Number of posts per day > 2) AND total posts in any one day (Maxjunkiepostrate > 10) AND knowledge of famous trolls > 1 (AND OR incident of hilarity) etc. etc.

hub2dee · 18/10/2006 21:38

No sweat hunker.

WhateveryouarecarryingMs Carrion, you are most definitely in.

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrion · 18/10/2006 21:40

it's a harpsichord.
or a clavichord if I am feeling weak and feeble.
A man on the next table in a restaurant the other say was talking to his companion and said
"Blablah bladiblah harpsichord blah..."
and I looked at him because I thought for a minute he was addressing me.
Egotistical?
much?

TheOneAndOnlyHUNKERMUNKER · 18/10/2006 21:41

PMSL at answering to "harpsichord".

What a strange world we live in on MN

hub2dee · 18/10/2006 21:43

I think you've carried more than those two instruments if I'm not very much mistaken, hc.

I have one percent laptop battery and am about to expire.

Night.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 18/10/2006 21:45

lol......

its a fab idea. The password should be "clique"

BipolarBear · 18/10/2006 21:45

Would you have to "double-clique" to get in there?

Blu · 18/10/2006 21:46

Noooooooo-ooooooo! Surely we should all be posting less, not being offered incentives to post more.....
A special password protected place that you can only get into if you limit yourself to less than 20 posts a week!

harpsichordcarrion · 18/10/2006 21:47

less than 20 posts

what kind of silly talk is that?!?!
pmsl at double clique

TwigTwoolett · 18/10/2006 21:50

am rofl-ing at QV's blatant disregard of the concept of a 'password' ... its supposed to be a SECRET ya big eejit

am also rofl-ing at double-clique ... ver' ver' good

foxinsocks · 18/10/2006 21:55

lol

hub, you really have made me laugh today at a time when I needed a giggle

CorpseBrideOfJohnCusack · 18/10/2006 21:58

nope

a padded cell, maybe....

VeniVidiVickiQV · 18/10/2006 22:04

only if its a secret password, silly!

hub2dee · 19/10/2006 06:16

Nothing finer than double-clique.

Already, this thread is of a higher standard that 98% of the threads I've read in the last week...

... but I suppose that isn't difficult...

OP posts:
curlew · 19/10/2006 06:32

.....but that area exists already..surely you....oh you mean you're not a member....oh I am sorry......

hub2dee · 19/10/2006 06:41

lol curlew.
