Charity suggestion for mumsnet...

Just thinking about the fact that it's National Giving Week and the fact that I neither have time or much cash to do anything effective for my chosen charities.

Was wondering if the incredible Mumsnet Community could nominate childrens charities e.g. Childline, NSPCC, and try to raise money collectively?

For example, we could all agree to sell our childrens old toys/clothes on this website and all the proceeds (after postage) would go in to the Mumsnet charity kitty? Like ebay but for a good cause.

Anyone got any other ideas?

Have a look for children's charities on www.justgiving.com

Very easy way to donate/collect money, I raised £1800 earlier this year on it for a sponored walk I did for children with disabilities. Allows the charity to get the benefit of giftaid (worth 28p in every £ donated by taxpayers).

Maybe mners could suggest their favourite charities/pages to go to on there?
