Somebody just called me angry... I guess I am

I am ashamed to say that over the past couple of months I have let a website actually make me angry.

This'll be my last post so if anybody cares - here's why:

The sanctimonious, dare I say it "holier than thou" attitude of so many posters on this forum is just more than I can stomach for a minute longer. Don't eat this, don't feed your baby this way, I am so bloody marvellous - my God there are a lot of members on MN who should be awarded multiple gold threads.

I am also sick to DEATH of the BF vs FF debate. It has now become so boring I think if I have to read one more evangelical thread about the subject I'll expire - or at least the part of my brain capable of processing new information will.

I think now I am into my third pregnancy the more experienced parent in me is finding the whining, witchhunts and general crappy atmosphere a waste of time.

I shan't be logging on anymore. Au-revoir MN.

Oh, it's cod!

Thought that had been posted by Hagrid, for a minute.

diNOLOOKINGOVERYOURSHOULDERsau · 16/10/2006 13:09

Oh my God, can you imagine the super-combustible fall-out that a Moderator Nomination thread would cause????

FrannyandZooey · 16/10/2006 13:09

oh at you all

and HC wittering on faintly and sensibly in the middle of it all

I do love you all you know

zippitippitoes · 16/10/2006 13:10

yes lets have a moderators election

TwigTwoolett · 16/10/2006 13:10

we bought Quinoa once .. when DH was under a chinese herbalist / nutritionist / something or other

we bought quinoa and decanted it into an air-tight container

where it sat

and sat

and sat

then we moved house

and it sat in new house kitchen

then we refurbished kitchen and I chucked it out

diNOLOOKINGOVERYOURSHOULDERsau · 16/10/2006 13:10

Oh, I can see it now!

The wailing and gnashing of teeth!

The accusations of clique and counter-clique!

Apocalypse Now!

zippitippitoes · 16/10/2006 13:11

try it please

EnidVorhees · 16/10/2006 13:11

I'd love to moderate

but would be too stern

and also would HATE to have to read the sordid threads, I avoid them like the plague

FrannyandZooey · 16/10/2006 13:11

I nominate myself.

I am always so calm and polite, I think I would be gosh darned perfect.

diNOLOOKINGOVERYOURSHOULDERsau · 16/10/2006 13:13

Franny the Perfect Prefect.

Actually, let's not call them moderators, let's call them Prefects .

zippitippitoes · 16/10/2006 13:13

monitors

TwigTwoolett · 16/10/2006 13:14

moderator nominations thread

I don't think franny is a perfect prefect .. I think she's more like the kid with the bunches and glasses who sits in the library shushing everybody

harpsichordcarrion · 16/10/2006 13:14

(and I am just ignoring the stuff about the BF v FF debate. of course it's not a debate. it's about as relevant as saying - oh god why do people keep going on about education it's so boring now my children are all in the right schools. red herrings and white noises just go over my head tbh. I spend my professional life hearing about the shit advice given to women and the miserable bloody time they have of it, so someone saying they're bored is frankly neithe here nor there.)

taMummy · 16/10/2006 13:15

I think the problem with moderators is that if people happen not to agree with them then they get even more riled at being told what to do. Mods never had any ability to delete posts, did they, just report them.

harpsichordcarrion · 16/10/2006 13:15

Christ I sound like a frigging prefect Sally Satchel.
and I used to be such a rebel.
no-one will ever want to kiss me behind the bike sheds now

taMummy · 16/10/2006 13:16

for hc

harpsichordcarrion · 16/10/2006 13:17

but tamummy, would it be good to be able to separate it from the personal to say "hold on, this getting a bit out of hand...." by someone repsected on all sides?
I wasn't nvolved in the recent Bonkers Threads (priase be) but I wonder if a calm and slightly disinterested voice might help?

taMummy · 16/10/2006 13:18

I know you're right in theory, and some mods were brilliant at it, but it did sometimes go horribly wrong IIRC.

VanillaMilkshake · 16/10/2006 14:03

F&Z, if you promise there will be no 'witch hunt' then I will confirm VM is my normal name (at the mo). You can find me on some ante-natale threads and also on any other thread which has grabbed my attention - esp those about Strictly Come Dancing

'robust' lol I am a squeaky mousey person normally, but I guess the anonimity of MN just lets us speak our mind a bit louder than we normally would face to face.

But as you can see, if I offend I do apologise - well at least if it's a case where I did'nt mean to offend.
