Would we be able to have a spiritual life board??

There seems to be quite a few mums here who like the alternative way of looking at life. several of us chat on threads about all different mediums and angles of spirituality. So far we have 7 or so threads going but it would be great to have different subject headings. It will hopefully attract more people as its not always easy to find like minded mums with this interest. Would love to know what you think. We also wnat to dispel the theory that you have to be a hippy to be spiritually inclined.

Wow Melsy, not sure about love energy but could probably translate it to human spirit or human energy. I have a problem not wincing at stuff like this and yet specialise in terminal care and see amazing stuff all the time. I say it is a problem because once had a class of students try to express their thoughts on me by standing and clapping and whooping for five minutes at me and was incredibly embarassed and they were upset as they had thought I would like it! I felt I let them down by not being able to relax and enjoy their honest appreciation. Anyway have witnessed many wonderful expressions of love as people died so will try and be more open about it.

Oh Glitterfairy I am interested in what you have to say. I have read Elizabeth Kübler-Ross and seen her film. It is certainly fascinating and I would really enjoy talking more to you if you felt open to doing so.

I thinkit would be a good ides but to cover conventional as well as the unconventional so more people may be encouraged to air views find some from of support ( it could be another important areana in mumsnet alongside health and just haveing somewhere to chat)

Yes also would like to speak with you more glitterfairy. I have had family leave due to cancer and now have a family friend who has only the next 9mths to live with rare pelvic cancer , but she wont let me talk to her about healing. She is very matter of fact about everything and doesnt want to have anymore ops or treatment except pills.

Am really happy to talk to anyone about this email me. Am currently packing to go to Ireland but will be back on Thursday. Now there is a spiritual place! Am also on messenger so can chat through that but as I said am away now will chat thursday. Justa bit of background I am a nurse mostly doing terminal care HIV/AIDS in the late 80s and early 90s also counsellor but love terminal care. Now have own business and am best mate of beety which is why I started on this site!

Work in hospital in Dublin as consultant. Go once a month lucky me time away from kids so love them more and get to go to Dublin and Ireland spiritual home!

Sounds like you are very fulfilled in your work. You help people in a very difficult time. I admire ypur strenght and couarge in doing this.

Thank you but I dont work really with patients any more I now do leadership development and work onsorting out healthcare workers who are tired and depressed and organisations who need to sort themselves out. Am very bossy so that probably helps! I also do courses for healthcare workers and personal development on the internet now. Was sahm for 6 years so know how that feels too. Anyway plane is calling so must go. It was lovely to talk catch up thursday!

Quick one to papillon (see am addict and cant even make a plane). Used to work with a nurse who worked wtih EKR in Switzerland very inspiring but can sometimes be takan to extremes. People feel that they ahve to go through stages of grief and many ahve all five at once, backwards forwards etc. Anyway would love to chat.

Hope you're feeling ok Melsy? Maybe if we do get a board we could have one thread just for debating so that no one gets upset as spirituality/religion is a tricky subject sometimes and to be honest I wouldn't hang around anymore if it got to be so negative. I appreciate peoples views on the subject but we're here to support one another, motherhood is hard enough without more hassle.

very good point Juniper. Would be a huge draw back if that was would the board was dominated by. Which God to believe in - and mine is the only right one etc.

It would have to be respected as an open space for open minds etc. Of course don´t want to be too light headed about the whole thing.. of course there will probably be twigs in the stream sometimes!!

I was soo upset that this had to start off negativley. It kinda defeated the point of the whole thing. I felt safe discussing it all until then, thats why Iasked for help !!!

Take no notice of the others. Each to their own I say. I don't understand half of your threads but the half I do sound interesting and it sounds like you know your stuff.
If people don't like it they should just ignore the threads.
