Would we be able to have a spiritual life board??

There seems to be quite a few mums here who like the alternative way of looking at life. several of us chat on threads about all different mediums and angles of spirituality. So far we have 7 or so threads going but it would be great to have different subject headings. It will hopefully attract more people as its not always easy to find like minded mums with this interest. Would love to know what you think. We also wnat to dispel the theory that you have to be a hippy to be spiritually inclined.

3 years ago Melsy, I felt the same btw, some people go for the feeling of a fear of the unknown, but only when they haven't had some experience or other (some people never have it...or some people just have)...there will always be people who don't support your beliefs anywhere (witness some of my own threads!), but I think it's brill to start any new kind of thinking BECAUSE it was my "Christian neighbours" moving next door to us a few years ago, that totally changed my life for the better (I had been searching for spirituality and then one day it just sort of happened)...I would be very happy to share experiences with anyone here and do believe that the world needs an influx of fire and new belief now and then keep it up!

I think you may have to do some karma cleaning baldrick, there may be witch hunt for you on here.

baldrick · 19/04/2004 21:17

did bring up karma,( in one of my previous threads) which some thought was old wives stuff, you obviously believe in all this sort of stuff?

melsy · 19/04/2004 21:19

yes I do a little. I just think you need to lay low as they say. You know I was also upset the other night. Just stay on an even keel please.

Another vote for the new Topic.

Is this Blatantnamechanger thing just a joke, or is there really someone around here that is very narrow minded AND ashamed of their own opinions AND whose children have the misfortune to have them for a mother?

baldrick · 19/04/2004 21:48

thanks Melsy, have apologised and I was also upset, I have received no apologies for the way people talked to me...if people can't take me the way I am, then that is silly...have been so sincere in my words, what does it take to make people realise that yesterday is forgotten, tomorrow is the start of the rest of our lives...(if people can't accept my apologies then it isn't my loss)...be forgiving please

Codswallop · 19/04/2004 22:04

You are right being spritually inclined i should be forgiving baldrick, but there are some vibes hanging around you. I will try.

OP posts:
baldrick · 19/04/2004 22:11

what vibes?

melsy · 19/04/2004 22:16

I cant explain it really, just a sticky heavy feeling.

OP posts:
baldrick · 19/04/2004 22:19

I must live at least 100 mi;es from you, how can you tell this? Have had very uplifting dreams last couple of nights with all the mumsnet stuff, am suprised give off sticky vibes...am completely perplexed...Melsy are you on another planet stp?

melsy · 19/04/2004 22:21

No not on another planet, as I said it is a feeling I get around you. I hope you were being humouros there??? Possibly a connection with you from a past life may be.

OP posts:
baldrick · 19/04/2004 22:26

am so humourous I've got laughter lines all over my face!! (laugh a lot !). Past life! am intriuged beyond belief here Melsy!...have a strong connection with the earth but am water sign, please explain this more!!!

melsy · 19/04/2004 22:30

What is your strong connection with the earth?? Your scaring me a bit. They say that if you have had trouble with someone in a past life, reflections of that will show up in your interactions with someone in your current life. Im not yet sure I believe in reicarnation or not.

am a gardener and love the feeling of soil on my hands (where some people do not like getting their habds dirty)>

nightowl · 20/04/2004 00:21

FWIW Melsy i think its a good idea. i have a certain amount of interest in things like this....not to your extent but an interest all the same. Im not a religous person in any way whatsoever but i do like to look in on threads like yours even if i dont quite understand them!

glitterfairy · 20/04/2004 07:23

I am totally unreligious and defiantly unhippy (was a punk)! Have to say though am looking at consciousness and what memory is as part of post grad study and am fascinated by peoples experiences. Having read this thread I also think that parenting is being a person in all senses and that nothing should be ruled out. What do i know though am a new mnetter. I like the idea of existential chat and from a humanist point of view would welcome discussion.

Helsbels · 20/04/2004 08:34

I am interested in this subject but I also think it is related to parenting if it is something that you believe in. It can shape your decisions in the same way that other external forces can so I think go for it - if people don't want to read/contribute then don't but some may find it interesting and enlightening.

lars · 20/04/2004 08:42

melsy, I think we all have different opinions and experiences and why not share them with the rest of us. If anyone is not interested in the thread they don't have to join in. I'm sure many of us have seen mediums at some stage in our lives. I think this could be an interesting thread ! larsxx

papillon · 20/04/2004 08:45

I agree with Helsbels regarding spirituality being related to parenting. In fact I believe it is quite a topical subject with regards to some forms of religious spirituality.

There are people who would like to participate but the one thread subject may not relate to them or be a topic they wish to discuss.
The introduction of a Spirit board could allow for a variety of thread levels so that people could participate more readily in the thread that most relates to them!

Angeliz · 20/04/2004 08:53

I think it's a good idea too!

I often lurk on the threads even though i don't post alot.

melsy · 20/04/2004 09:11

Nice to hear from you all. I dont feel you have to be religious to be into this, I just think it opens you up to wonderful experieneces and learn about what love looks & feels like & not just in a romantic sense , but love energy.
