iPhone 6 won't automatically login to mobile site

I have ticked the 'keep me logged in' box, but every time I open the mobile site I have to enter my login details again. This didn't happen on the previous arthritic iPhone, and I think it didn't happen when I first got this one, but it's changed recently. Could it have something to do with the Christmas name change? Or have I accidentally changed some buried setting? iPhone 6 plus, iOS 8.1.2.

Settings > Safari > Privacy: check that Cookies are not blocked.

Ah, I found it! Yes! Quite right, I'd turned on private browsing by accident. The background was dark grey instead of white. Now I know . Thanks all!
