MegaLegs · 11/10/2006 14:32

OP posts:
MadameMorticiaMills · 11/10/2006 14:32

You've broken Mumsnet then.

MegaLegs · 11/10/2006 14:33

perhaps I need to switch it off and switch it back on again. The box over there --> is empty too, should it have an ad in it?

OP posts:
MadameMorticiaMills · 11/10/2006 14:34

yup

MegaLegs · 11/10/2006 14:35

OOh hang on a Boden ad had reappeared but still no refresh etc. Maybe it's just someone's way of telling me to turn the computer off now and do some housework!

OP posts:
KellyKrueger1978 · 11/10/2006 14:35

why don't you jsut press F5 to refresh

nailpolish · 11/10/2006 14:35

i dont get any of the ads ever, but i think my computer blocks out all ads

KellyKrueger1978 · 11/10/2006 14:36

if you dont have flash you won't get the ads

nailpolish · 11/10/2006 14:37

but i do have flash

anyway im not bothered, its only ads

MegaLegs · 11/10/2006 14:37

I'm back, it's working again. Don't know what happened there. Got quite hot and panicky at the thought that I might have broken Mumsnet.

OP posts:
MegaLegs · 11/10/2006 14:38

I'm sure that was aboden ad just now- not GLT. Think I've over done it - must switch off, walk away from the computer.

nailpolish · 11/10/2006 14:39

this reminds of my poor elderly FIL who the other day was looking at hotel websites for a weekend away

something went wrong (he has dodgy internet access) and the hotel home page disappeared

he phoned the hotel to apologise for breaking their website

BLESS

KellyKrueger1978 · 11/10/2006 14:41

rofl at np's fil! poor man.

Prob blocking software for the ads then, I wish I didn't get them. Quite tempting to uninstall flash sometimes.

MegaLegs · 11/10/2006 14:41

My nan phoned once to tell me to stay away from the computer as she'd heard it might have a virus.

SamhainWitch · 11/10/2006 16:33

Kelly - using refresh display instead of F5 prevents your message from repeating if the last thing you have done is post.

We used to have threads full of repeated posts until Tech brought in the special button.
