Ok, what's up with Search?

I'm finding it really flaky and strange. If I ever search for any posts with my initials in them (yeah yeah, like you don't do that!), I get no results. I have been trying to find the threads on Battlestar Gallactica, and can't find any of them. I started one! Battlestar Gallactica was in the title! I'm spelling it right!

What am I missing here?

Ah, me too. Last few searches I've made I've failed as well.

Can't believe there where no posts in last few years on hernias or being self employed...

We'll have a look. It found that one for me straight away here

There may be some sort of intermittent problem I spose.

Hmmm. Having looked at it, I think the problem might be to do with putting dates in. It's doing something a bit mad. Probably best to leave them out.... sorry for the annoyance...

It seems to be behaving fine this morning. V flaky. I have certainly had problems without using dates, just putting my initials in the search box, and getting back 0 posts with them in, ever. (Ditto on searching for battlestar.)

I don't like problems that go away on their own, they always come back on their own, too ...

There's also no search memory .... ie put in a search term from a specific date with many results, click on one and you can't go back to search results .. you have to re-enter all the search terms on a new h searcpage

it used to stay there in the old search but now you have to keep going to search page and re-doing it

or is that just me

NotQuiteCockney · 10/10/2006 21:10

No, you're right about that, Twiglett.

I am still getting flaky results from searches, even without dates.

Also, can we have wildcards in search? It would be nice to be able to put a * at one or both ends of a word.

(Is search case-sensitive?)
