Mobile Site - comment box constantly freezing my phone!

Aaaggh! Had to re-write this because it happened while typing up the thread!

This only happens on Mumsnet. I'm using the mobile site through Safari on an iPhone 4S, iOS 8.

Every time I attempt to comment on a thread, it freezes Safari completely mid-typing. I could be halfway through a few sentences or it might let me go as far as typing a whole paragraph, but the whole thing freezes. I then have to click the button on my phone to get out of Safari. When I click back on it, the page reloads, logging me out, thus deleting anything I've already written. I then have to log back in and type it all again, keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again!

I've started typing up my replies on my Notes in my phone first so I can copy & paste straight into the comment box. But even this is difficult because the paste option flashes up and disappears several times before it finally stays up and lets me click on it. Again, this only happens on Mumsnet. I use other forums and websites and this never, ever happens.

It's driving me mad and limiting my time on here because I get annoyed with typing everything twice!

Hi BettyFocker - soz for the delay in getting back to you. Can't lay our hands on an iPhone 4S at the mo, but will flag your query to Tech and hopefully someone with the right hardware will be able to run a check and get back to you soon.

Ah. Is it worth mentioning that (again on the app) it is impossible to copy and paste in comments from my iphone 6?

I can apparently copy a link from wherever - but can never coax "paste" out of hiding. It's a bore. And only seems to happen here.

Any suggestions?

Mine has done the freezing thing occasionally, it wasn't just Mumsnet though. I also have an iPhone 6.

I've also noticed with this phone that the autocorrect is shit. It picks up on some spelling mistakes and leaved others. I've got an swfuk feeling it's the iOS update again.

God if I'd left that text the way it typed it would make no sense.

Although I missed *awful, obviously. And leaves.

Can we ask whether you're on the actual mobile site, or the desktop site on your mobile?

I'm on the mobile version of the desktop. I hate the app, it's not very easy to follow and the pages freeze up.

The mobile site still freezes a lot or is non-responsive on my phone. If I have a thread open then click Active it won't go back to Active - it'll often just go back to what was open before. Sony Xperia Chrome

Same happened to me on my Samsung s4 on the mobile site a while ago. Only in chrome.

Still doing it. I've been taking note and it is only on the Mumsnet mobile site.

I now have:

Frozen phone if attempt to post on mobile site. (Have switched to desktop.)

Shortcut buttons disappeared from mobile and desktop.

"An error occurred ... page reloading" several times a day.

...just as I'd started to admire the smooth fluidity of the upgraded mobile site!

Me too on Galaxy S3. Really difficult to post comments as so slow and freezes or cannot even type it at all.

Hi folks, thanks for all the info - we'll pass all this on to Tech. Apologies again for the problems on the mobile site. We are on it but we appreciate that it's very annoying in the meantime. We'll update when there is any news.

Is it my phone?

I'd hoped that switching to desktop would help but it doesn't. My longest and most brilliant posts are all freezing themselves out of existence. And any attempt at copying causes the screen to roll. So I'm chasing the text! I look ridiculous - the phone is laughing at me.

Iphone 6, Safari, ios8 whatever. (I'll be posting via Royal Mail soon.)
