Dear SantaB4743.....Today was not a good one, stress and more stress. Then at 5pm and elderly neighbour knocked on my door and held out a plastic Christmas stocking which the postman had left with her. On opening it I just could have cried at the kindness and generosity of your gift, I was for once lost for words! When life keeps knocking you back, little unexpected kindness picks you up...........thank you, thank you for lifting my spirits today. Have just received my Secret Santa....beautiful wrapped gifts - which I promise will not be opened until Christmas Day!!

Its been a difficult year - my precious Dad passed away in April and my amazing Mum is in a nursing home. I am so lucky that I have a great family and we are all trying to plod along and keep our heads up. Receiving these special gifts has made me smile and cry tonight. Thank you - whoever you are - you will never know how much your gesture is appreciated.

So surprised to see a large packet left in my porch today addressed to the Mumsnetter of the house, two in two days! Thank you so very much for thinking of us and for sending the gifts, my daughter will love the books, she adores reading like me. The other gift has been hidden for Christmas, or they wouldn`t last 5 mins! I am not sure what I have done to be nominated twice, but it is a nice warm feeling to know that someone out there is thinking of you. There is still so much kindness in this world. xx

Your generous gift arrived a few days ago - apologies for only posting about it now. DH had put the card away with our other Christmas cards to put up ceremoniously (as we do) on Christmas Eve and I only identified it as being 'special' today.
I am a bit overwhelmed and humbled at having been nominated, so thank you to my nominator, whoever you are, and heartfelt thank you to you too
I love it that you are supportive of my suggestion to pass this gift on to somebody who is in great need and will appreciate your generosity greatly - it will make a huge difference to what kind of Christmas they and their family will have.
