Email about a private message that doesn't exist

Has anyone else had an email?

It's dated today, at 14.13, and says that a MN'er by the username of 'sunilm9' has messaged me - but my inbox is empty.

Is this a glitch, or something nastier?

If it was from a spammer then MNHQ can delete the PM. Have you tried putting the name into advanced search to see if they've ever posted?

I've had that. Think it was a spammer. Nothing to worry about as far as I know.

It is weird though. I usually love getting a pm.

Are you able to delete messages as it sits in your outbox before its read on here?

If you do an Advanced Search for sunilm9, they haven't posted anything on MN. So, as PPs, have said - it was probably a spammer, so MNHQ would have deleted all their dodgy PMs.

same here - from sunilm92 at 14.12 today - a spammer...

I also had this message and reported it, but it's gone , no idea where . Mine was about windows 8 start up button . How can the message disappear ?

Maybe MN Towers deleted it mummylin.

But it had gone before I even reported it ! Thought I was imagining it all until I saw this thread. Thought it was part of the plan from my dh to send me crazy

If MNHQ receives a report(s) about a dodgy PM from a particular poster, I'm guessing they can easily find all the dodgy PMs that particular person has sent and can zap them all, whether you've reported it or not. But they can't recall the email alerting you to a new PM.

Panic not - sunilm92 was a spammer, so we removed their messages from your inbox
