Problems with buttons at bottom of screen. on MNet app

I'm on a Sony phone, Android, and the blue buttons on the Mumsnet app at the bottom of the screen (Active, I'm on etc) only work if you are right at the top of a thread. If I scroll at all down the thread, and try to press one of those buttons, it's as if the buttons are invisible. So if an ad is under the button, you get taken to the ad, not taken to where the button is meant to go to.

I thought it was just a glitch to do with the new app, but it has happened ever since the new app was launched and hasn't been fixed.

Thanks very much Amy. It's not only that if the shortcut bar at the bottom of the screen is over an ad, then you get taken to the ad, it's that the buttons on it just don't work unless you are right at the very top of the page - as if they were invisible. Hopefully there is an easy fix!
