Could we have a parking topic please?

Hi HQ,

The slew of parking threads is really boring and people get so riled they always turn nasty. They clutter Aibu up and it is nigh on impossible to keep hiding them. More often than not posts are really offensive and exhibit some kind of 'ism'. So could we please parcel them into their own topic. They seem to be very attractive to people who want to start a ruck, which would make reporting easier.

Thanks,

Marmite

Even if there was a specific parking topic, unfortunately people will still post parking threads in AIBU or Chat.

Just like there's a Christmas topic, but people still post Christmas threads in AIBU or Chat in July Grin

Ad infinitum

You might have a point there Fru

Does anyone else fancy it, or shall we park this issue for now?*

*We don't have to park it, I just really wanted to make that joke.

Whilst I can see where Marmite is coming from! I agree with Fru, it would be impossible to police and P&C spaces seem to be the topic of interest for many new to MN who wouldn't know to use it.

FruVikingessOla · 08/10/2014 16:30

Quite, Sauv. There are so many niche topics - but lots of people don't know that they're there so just use AIBU or Chat as the 'go to' topics.

I see what the others mean. Those threads are so boring though. Thanks for reading Kate

What's not to love about a good parking thread?? The drama, the Daily Mail Sad faces, the brass necks, the entitlement, the mobs of faux-outraged people baying for blood, the penguin bollards....

Heaven....

FruVikingessOla · 08/10/2014 16:39

I know they can be boring, Marmite, I agree.

But the trouble is people won't - or don't - look to find relevant niche topics, or they're simply not aware that the niche topics are there in the first place.

You'd be surprised at the number of people who complain about weird stuff going on on the MN website itself, who seem to have no idea about the Site Stuff topic Grin
