Why delete the birthday card thread?

The OP said she'd reported it "for fear of being outed" but there was not one thing in there that was specific enough or personal enough to be outed by.

Let's be honest - she looked a prat and so reported herself. Really not sure why you deleted though, MNHQ. We could all do that couldnt we? Most people take their YABUs with better grace.

I agree Catkisser.

Agree.

In fact, I remember joining MN years ago and in my total naivete posting something like "AIBU to think single childless people deserve equal benefits to those who have kids?"

Boy did I get roasted.

Didn't go running to MummyNHQ though... (just saying)

And for the record, the OP was BU.

I composed a lengthy post setting out the pecking order of friends and relatives vis a vis cards, and it has gone now, into the ether.

Was that the 'pissed off with the late birthday card' thread? I hadn't got to that one yet!

Hi all,

The OP came to us and said she was concerned that there was too much identifying info and although there were no names, the OP did have a fair amount of identifying info in it.

In this instance, we asked the OP to post on the thread herself to explain why she wanted the thread gone to everyone and she did.

She did receive somewhat of a pasting to the point of being a pretty nasty and she has been around quite some time and never crossed our radar before.

Taking all of this into account and looking at our overall ethos of 'making parents lives easier', it made sense to us to zap.

We do not delete just cos we are asked, we look at the bigger picture and make a judgement call. We may get it wrong from time to time and there are often factors that are brought to our attention off board and TSSCNCOP.
