Is there something wrong with bookmarks?

I mark my place with bookmarks all over the site. On a thread with hundreds of posts it's too much trouble to scroll through every time.
I've noticed over the last few days they don't seem to be working. I click on a thread I know I have bookmarked and it just takes me to the beginning.

I don't want to be one of those people who posts marking my place now do I?

Can you just let us know what device you're using, and also which
version of the site (mobile, app, desktop)? If you also know which browser you're using, that'd help too!

I use the desktop version on a a laptop with firefox browser.

I don't know if it's related, but my bookmark icon keeps not showing up. So far as I can tell they're working, and when I click the 3 dots it says 'bookmarked', but I don't have the icon visible.

I'm on iOS 8.0.2, Safari.
